The Himachal Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced the formation of two state-level committees a Charge Sheet Committee and a Jan Andolan (Mass Agitation) Committee—to intensify its campaign against the Congress government over what it termed “anti-people policies, unfulfilled promises, corruption and administrative failures.”
Announcing the decision, BJP state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal said the party would take the Congress government’s alleged failures to every village and household across the state. “The present Congress government will be surrounded politically and its fortifications will also be dismantled,” he said, accusing the government of betraying the public mandate during its three-and-a-half-year tenure and pushing the state towards economic and administrative distress.
The Charge Sheet Committee has been tasked with preparing a detailed report documenting the government’s alleged failures, corruption, anti-people decisions and unfulfilled promises. The committee comprises Dr. Rajeev Bindal, Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, MP and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur, Rajya Sabha MPs Prof. Sikander Kumar and Harsh Mahajan, along with senior BJP leaders including Satpal Singh Satti, Randhir Sharma, Vikram Thakur, Sudhir Sharma, Balbir Verma, Payal Vaidya, Trilok Jamwal and Rajendra Rana.
The Jan Andolan Committee will coordinate statewide public outreach programmes, protests, awareness campaigns and organisational activities against the Congress government. Its members include Dr. Rajeev Bindal, Jai Ram Thakur, MPs Suresh Kashyap, Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj and Kangana Ranaut, besides senior party leaders Vipin Singh Parmar, Pawan Kajal, Vinod Kumar, Bihari Lal Sharma, Rakesh Jamwal, Govind Singh Thakur, Dr. Rajeev Saizal, Rashmidhar Sood and D.S. Thakur.
Dr. Bindal said the BJP would continue to raise issues concerning public welfare, development and good governance, adding that the Congress government would be held accountable for every “false promise, anti-people decision and administrative failure.”
The notification announcing the constitution of both committees was issued by BJP state office secretary Pramod Kumar.
