Chamba, May 26
Kavita Devi was elected as the new Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Joda in Chamba district after defeating her rival Seema Devi in the Panchayat elections.
According to the official result, Kavita Devi secured 119 votes, while Seema Devi got 90 votes. A total of 213 votes were cast, of which 209 were declared valid.
The result is being seen as possibly the first declared Pradhan election result of the 2026 Panchayat polls in Himachal Pradesh. Supporters celebrated the victory and congratulated the newly elected Pradhan.
