BJP state media in-charge Randhir Sharma said that Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has completely succumbed to “BJP phobia.” Whenever any issue arises in the state, the Chief Minister tries to blame the Bharatiya Janata Party without any facts. He said that a recent report published by an NGO based on the Chief Minister’s election affidavit estimated his assets to be approximately ₹7.80 crore, ranking him among the wealthiest Chief Ministers in North India. The BJP did not object to this, but rather wished him well. Surprisingly, the Chief Minister is trying to blame the BJP for this report as well.
Randhir Sharma said that the BJP simply demands that the Chief Minister, in addition to his personal wealth, should also be concerned about the people of the state and the economic situation of Himachal. He alleged that since coming to power, the Congress government has continuously burdened the people of the state with new taxes and duties, while on the other hand, the state’s economic situation is continuously deteriorating due to wasteful expenditure and corruption. He said that the public is troubled by inflation, economic pressures, and government policies, but the Chief Minister is focused only on saving his political image.
The BJP media in-charge said that the Chief Minister is completely distraught after the Congress’s crushing defeat in the Panchayat Raj Institutions and urban body elections. In this distraught state, he is making derogatory remarks about Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members elected to constitutional positions. This is an insult not only to those public representatives but also to the people who elected them and is unbecoming of the Chief Minister’s position.
Randhir Sharma also reacted to the Chief Minister’s statement, “Those who are willing to sell themselves, let them sell themselves.” He said that if the Chief Minister himself is saying this, it clearly means he is questioning the loyalty of his own party leaders and MLAs. The Chief Minister should refrain from publicly insulting his own party’s representatives.
He also dismissed the Chief Minister’s claim that BJP MLAs are seeking to join the Congress as baseless. Randhir Sharma said that if BJP MLAs meet with the Chief Minister or ministers regarding public issues, it is their democratic responsibility. This cannot be interpreted as a desire to join the Congress. BJP workers and MLAs are dedicated to the nationalist ideology, and there is no question of them leaving the party.
Randhir Sharma said that the reality today is that there is an atmosphere of disappointment within the Congress party, and many workers and leaders, influenced by the BJP’s ideology and leadership, want to join the BJP. He said that the public has already given a clear message to the Congress government in the Panchayat and Municipal elections, and if the Chief Minister is still confused, the people of the state will give him a clear answer in the upcoming assembly elections.

BJP state media in-charge Randhir Sharma said that the Supreme Court’s setback to the Himachal Pradesh government in a case involving the recruitment and service conditions of government employees is proof that the Congress government’s policies have been anti-employee from the very beginning. He said that when the government introduced a bill in the Assembly amending the service provisions of employees, the Bharatiya Janata Party strongly opposed it.
Randhir Sharma said that the BJP had clearly stated in the Assembly that not including employees’ contract period in seniority and financial benefits was injustice, discrimination, and a betrayal of the employees. The BJP had also warned the government at that time that while a law could be passed with the strength of a majority, such a provision would not stand the test of the courts. Today’s Supreme Court decision has vindicated the BJP’s fears.
He alleged that the Congress government is consistently ignoring the interests of employees. Employees are not receiving timely dearness allowance (DA) installments, nor are salaries being paid on time, nor are retired employees being paid their pensions and other financial obligations on time. He said that approximately ₹2,000 crore in liabilities, including medical reimbursement bills for retired employees and outstanding DA installments, are pending, but the government is paying no attention to them.
Randhir Sharma also reacted to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s blaming the BJP for his wealth report, saying that the Chief Minister is making baseless statements out of frustration over his political failures and electoral setbacks. He said that the Chief Minister’s wealth report was prepared by a non-governmental organization based on election affidavits, which has no connection to the BJP.
He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is a responsible political party and it is its democratic right and responsibility to comment on any issue related to public life. While the Chief Minister’s assets worth approximately ₹7.80 crore should be acknowledged, he should also be concerned about the economic condition of the state and its citizens.
Randhir Sharma said that before the elections, the Congress government had made several significant guarantees, including ₹1,500 per month for women, purchasing milk from farmers at ₹100 per liter, and providing employment to millions of youth. However, instead of fulfilling those promises, the government is busy misleading the public. He said that the state is heading towards an economic crisis and the public is upset with the government’s policies.
He said that instead of making baseless accusations, the Chief Minister should fulfill the promises made to the employees and the people of the state. If the government has failed to fulfill its guarantees, the Chief Minister should take moral responsibility and apologize to the people of the state.
