During the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the state government is making every possible effort to provide relief to Radha Soami Satsang Beas Charitable Hospital, Bhota and to keep the hospital functioning. He said that the state government wants to keep the hospital functional so that the nearby residents continue to get quality health services.
He said that the state government will introduce a bill to amend the Land Ceiling Act on the first day of the winter session of the Assembly starting from December 18 in Dharamshala. He gave instructions to immediately prepare the draft of the amendment bill and present it in the upcoming cabinet meeting. He said though the government had initially considered bringing in an ordinance to provide relief to the organisation, it was more feasible to introduce an amendment bill as the Assembly session was scheduled to be held soon. The Chief Minister said that the matter related to the land of Charitable Hospital Bhota has remained unresolved for almost a decade. Even during the tenure of BJP, this matter was discussed in the year 2019, Radha Swami Satsang Beas had also demanded relief from the then BJP government.
Bhota Charitable Hospital has been running for many years. People from many panchayats within its ambit come to get cheap treatment, but after the notice of closure of the hospital was put up from December 1st, people got angry after which people blocked the road and protested. People appealed to the state government to accept the demands of Dera Beas management. Appealed to keep the hospital running smoothly.
The Dera Beas management wants that the Bhota Hospital of the Charitable Trust currently running under Radha Soami Satsang Beas should be transferred to the sister concern or organization Maharaj Jagat Singh Medical Relief Society of Beas Dera. For this, permission has to be taken from the government and changes will have to be made in the Land Ceiling Act
