Dharamshala: The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has released the provisional Top-10 merit list for the Matriculation Examination March 2026, with students from Kangra, Hamirpur, Mandi, Una and Bilaspur dominating the rankings.
Anmol of A.V.M Senior Secondary School, Pahra in Kangra district secured the first position across the state by scoring 699 marks out of 700, achieving an impressive 99.86 percent.
The second rank was jointly secured by three students — Abhinav Mehta of Government Senior Secondary School Rapoh Missran (Una), Purnima Sharma of Government Girls Senior Secondary School Bilaspur and Roohani Dhiman of Government Senior Secondary School Rapoh Missran — all scoring 698 marks with 99.71 percent.
At the third position, Alisha Thakur from Oxford School Kotli in Mandi and Ashwika Sharma from Neelam Public Senior Secondary School, Bihru in Hamirpur secured 697 marks each with 99.57 percent.
Students from private as well as government schools featured prominently in the merit list, reflecting strong academic competition across Himachal Pradesh. Girls continued to outperform boys in the overall top rankings, with a majority of merit holders being female students.
