Shimla: The Municipal Corporation has shifted into high gear to secure a top rank for the city in Swachh Survekshan 2026, intensifying efforts to strengthen sanitation and meet survey benchmarks.
A high-level review meeting was held at the MC war room under Mayor Surender Chauhan, where feedback was taken from the core team and key directions were issued to eliminate any gaps in preparedness.
Sanitary Inspectors Deployed on Ground Zero
All sanitary inspectors have been deployed in the field, closely monitoring cleanliness operations at the ground level. From door-to-door waste collection to maintenance of public toilets, every aspect is being reviewed to improve the city’s ranking.
School Students Roped in as Swachhta Ambassadors
To turn cleanliness into a mass movement, the civic body has launched awareness drives in schools. Students are being educated on waste segregation and maintaining hygiene in their surroundings, encouraging them to act as ambassadors of cleanliness.
The Municipal Corporation aims not only to score higher in the survey but also to position Shimla among the cleanest and most beautiful cities in the country.
