Shimla, Former BJP State President and MP Suresh Kashyap said that the current Congress government came to power with a promise of 100,000 jobs in its first cabinet and five other jobs, but the process of job snatching in Himachal Pradesh continues unabated. Outsourced employees in government departments are being fired one after another or their salaries are being withheld.
He stated that the jobs of 182 former outsourced employees of Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, are in jeopardy. The university has initiated a new recruitment process. This time, the old employees are not being prioritized for re-employment. The university administration has decided to temporarily recruit employees for a period of one month. These recruitments are being conducted in the administrative and technical branches of various departments. The contracts of 182 outsourced employees expired on September 30th. Many of these employees had been employed at the university for 8 to 12 years. Despite their long service, they are not being given priority in new recruitment, which has caused their anger. He stated that the current Congress government should consider the former employees and listen to them. What is the compulsion that has forced the university to recruit new employees? Is this process aimed at benefiting a certain Congress friend?
He said that the Chief Minister also altered the DA announcement by one percent. The Chief Minister knows that he has worsened Himachal Pradesh’s financial situation and has spared no effort to prevent the Finance Department from reaching the ventilator. Today, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh announced a 3 percent DA increase (total DA 45 percent) effective July 1, 2023, while the Central Government had announced a 4 percent increase (total DA 46 percent) effective July 1, 2023. This decision by the state government has deprived employees of their DA due from July 1, 2023. This clearly shows that the Chief Minister has taken away one percent of employees’ rights; he has no intention of considering them.
