People were administered the oath of National Resolution Day.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today attended the National Resolution Day program held at the historic Ridge in Shimla and remembered former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by laying a wreath at her statue. During the program, the Deputy Chief Minister also administered the National Resolution Day pledge to everyone. It is noteworthy that National Resolution Day is celebrated on the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Speaking to the media, he said that today is Indira Gandhi’s death anniversary, who sacrificed her life for the unity and integrity of the country. He said that Indira Gandhi was filled with patriotic spirit and became the first Prime Minister of the country to speak out against terrorism and face this challenge with strength. He said that Indira Gandhi was awarded the Bharat Ratna. During her tenure as Prime Minister, the late Indira Gandhi made many bold decisions and worked to advance the country in the nuclear field.
He said that Himachalis also remember Indira Gandhi because she visited the state in 1971 and granted Himachal Pradesh full statehood. She was known worldwide as the Iron Lady.
Mukesh Agnihotri said that today is the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and we remember him and salute him for his work for the country. He informed that a program in his memory is being organized in Gujarat from November 1st to 15th this year, in which Himachal Pradesh will also have the opportunity to present its views on November 4th. In addition to him, the state’s Governor, Chief Minister, and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly have also been invited to this program, for which preparations are underway.
On this occasion, Congress State President and former MP Pratibha Singh, MLA Shimla Urban Harish Janartha, Mayor Municipal Corporation Shimla Surendra Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, Vice President Himachal Pradesh Forest Development Corporation Kehar Singh Khachi, Chairman APMC Devanand Verma, Chairman Himfed Maheshwar Singh Chauhan, Councillors of Municipal Corporation Shimla, OSD to Chief Minister Gopal Sharma, Joint Secretary General Administration Praveen Tak, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap, Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, Congress Party workers and other dignitaries also paid floral tributes to the statue of Indira Gandhi.
