Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi on Friday said the Himachal Pradesh government is focusing on better education and modern infrastructure to create greater opportunities for the state’s youth.
Awasthi was addressing people in Arki after hearing their grievances. He said the government, under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has given priority to strengthening the education sector.He said Himachal Pradesh has risen to the fifth position in the field of quality education and claimed that with a literacy rate of 99.55 per cent, the state has achieved the status of being fully literate.
The MLA said efforts were also being made to modernise school infrastructure and equip students with skills relevant to emerging sectors. Subjects and future-oriented areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning and robotics are being introduced to help expand employment and self-employment opportunities, he said.
Awasthi also highlighted measures aimed at strengthening the rural economy, particularly in agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry. He said farmers and livestock owners were benefiting from higher procurement prices for cow and buffalo milk, support prices for crops produced through natural farming and climate-resilient fruit cultivation under the HP Shiva Project.
During the interaction, the MLA briefed residents about various welfare schemes being implemented by the state government and said efforts were being made to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive their benefits.He also directed officials to address public grievances promptly and in accordance with the rules, saying timely resolution of people’s problems remains a priority.
