Dharampur: Artists of Saptak Kala Rang Manch, a cultural troupe empanelled with the Himachal Pradesh Department of Information and Public Relations, conducted awareness programmes through folk songs, music and street plays in Gulhari and Jangeshu gram panchayats of Dharampur development block.
Through cultural performances and nukkad nataks, the artists informed villagers about various welfare schemes being implemented by the state government, particularly those aimed at the Scheduled Caste community.
The programmes highlighted initiatives such as the minimum support price for maize and milk procurement, the state’s self-reliance drive, enhanced wages under MGNREGA, the Widow Remarriage Scheme, the Chief Minister Kanyadan Scheme, and the Dr Y.S. Parmar Students’ Loan Scheme.
The troupe also created awareness about the Chief Minister Widow and Single Women Housing Scheme, under which financial assistance is provided to widows and single women for constructing houses. Beneficiaries are also provided essential amenities, including electricity and water supply.
Gram Panchayat Gulhari Pradhan Geeta Devi, Deputy Pradhan Dinesh Kumar, Ward Member Anita Devi and a large number of villagers attended the awareness programme.
