Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur has alleged that the state government is robbing the pockets of sick people. He said that after IGMC Shimla, now other hospitals in the state have started charging a registration fee of Rs 10 from patients. Apart from this, the fee charged for admission and food given to patients has increased. Jairam Thakur said in a statement issued here that patients are not getting free treatment even under the Himcare scheme. He alleged that this fee is being charged in hospitals by lying.
He said that serving patients is the duty of the government along with humanity, but the present government is using sick people as a source of income. He alleged that during the tenure of the present government, benefits like free medicines, tests, Himcare, and Ayushman Yojana have stopped. Furthermore, he said that the companies supplying the hospital are pleading with the government for their old payments and due to non-payment, health services are getting affected.
Jairam Thakur said that the Chief Minister should take the allegations of irregularities in the Finna Singh project seriously and get it investigated impartially. He said that this will expose the allegations of irregularities in the project. He said that in every project of the government, there are allegations of irregularities and manipulation of rules to benefit favorites.
