Hamirpur, August 21: Farmers in Hamirpur district will now be required to apply online to purchase fertiliser as the district introduces a new digital distribution system from August 26.
Under the new system, only farmers who apply through the Framework for Fertilizer Sale (FFS) App will be eligible to receive fertiliser.
Deputy Director of Agriculture Dr DD Sharma said farmers can download the FFS App from the Google Play Store and apply using their AgriStack Farmer ID or Aadhaar number.
Farmers who already have a Farmer ID under AgriStack will be able to apply by entering their Aadhaar number. As their Farmer ID and land records are already linked with the system, the required details will be automatically retrieved.
Farmers without a Farmer ID will have to enter their Aadhaar number along with the khasra or parcel number of their land for verification.
Tenant farmers, sharecroppers, cultivators on government or temple land and other eligible farmers will also be able to apply by providing their Aadhaar number, survey number and the name of the landowner through a self-declaration process.
The system will calculate the quantity of fertiliser a farmer is eligible to purchase based on land records, area and eligibility. After submitting the online application, the farmer will receive a QR code, which can be shown at the concerned agricultural cooperative society or fertiliser sale centre to collect the allotted fertiliser.
Dr Sharma said the new digital system aims to ensure greater transparency in the sale and distribution of fertilisers, prevent irregularities and provide fertiliser to different categories of farmers according to their eligibility and available land records.
He appealed to all farmers in Hamirpur district to submit their applications online before purchasing fertiliser.
