Shimla, August 21: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was given a Guard of Honour by the Himachal Pradesh Police at the Vidhan Sabha in Shimla on Thursday as the Monsoon Session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly commenced.
On the first day of the session, the Chief Minister was warmly welcomed on his arrival at the Vidhan Sabha.
Sukhu also interacted with school students who had arrived at the Assembly to witness the proceedings of the Monsoon Session. He spent time talking to the students and encouraged their interest in understanding the functioning of the state legislature.
Later, a delegation of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) called on the Chief Minister in Shimla and presented various demands related to student welfare and other issues.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation that the state government would consider their demands sympathetically.
The first day of the Monsoon Session witnessed a mix of official proceedings and public engagement, with the Chief Minister interacting with students and meeting representatives of the student organisation.
