A two women constables have lodged a formal complaint at the Women’s Police Station in Shimla, accusing an SP-rank police officer of mental harassment and workplace misconduct. The complaint also alleges that the officer threatened to keep their mobile phones under surveillance and interfered with their personal activities.
According to the complaint, the women constables claimed they were subjected to continuous mental harassment, creating an intimidating and hostile work environment. They further alleged that they were threatened with monitoring of their mobile phones and personal movements, causing fear and distress.
Police sources said a preliminary inquiry has been initiated in view of the seriousness of the allegations. Officials stated that the facts will be thoroughly examined and further action will be taken in accordance with the findings of the investigation.
The complainants have expressed hope that the inquiry will be conducted fairly and transparently and that appropriate action will be taken if the allegations are substantiated.
Senior police officials have maintained that the matter is sensitive and that the investigation will be impartial. They emphasized that no conclusions should be drawn until the inquiry is completed.
