In line with the directions of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sh. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to accelerate industrial development in the State, the Department of Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh has submitted two project proposals to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, under the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna (BHAVYA) Scheme.
The first proposal envisages the development of a plug-and-play industrial park at Majholi Industrial Area, Nalagarh, District Solan, with an estimated project cost of ₹154 crore. The proposed park will be developed over approximately 150 acres of land and is expected to significantly strengthen the industrial ecosystem in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) industrial region.
The second proposal has been submitted for the development of another plug-and-play industrial park at Beetan Industrial Area near Tahliwal, District Una, with an estimated project cost of ₹80 crore over a land parcel of approximately 75 acres. The proposed industrial park is strategically located in proximity to the upcoming Bulk Drug Park at Haroli, Una and is expected to serve as a key support ecosystem for this.
The BHAVYA Scheme of the DPIIT, Government of India, seeks to create investment-ready industrial ecosystems equipped with world-class infrastructure, multimodal connectivity, reliable utilities, digital governance systems, sustainability features and worker-support amenities through a competitive challenge-based selection process. Under the scheme, approved projects are eligible for Central assistance at the rate of ₹1 crore per acre. The DPIIT, Government of India, had invited applications for the first phase of 20 industrial parks under the BHAVYA Scheme on or before 31st July 2026. The industrial parks sanctioned under the scheme would be implemented jointly by the State Government and the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), Government of India.
Hon’ble Industries Minister Sh. Harshwardhan Chauhan stated that the State Government is committed to creating robust industrial infrastructure that supports sustainable economic growth, attracts quality investments and generates large-scale employment opportunities for the youth. He added that these proposals under the BHAVYA Scheme represent another significant step towards strengthening Himachal Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem and making the State a preferred destination for investment.
Principal Secretary (Industries), Smt. M. Sudha, informed that besides these two proposals, the Department is also in the process of identifying additional land parcels across the State for the development of industrial areas with modern plug-and-play infrastructure. She stated that these initiatives would further strengthen the industrial ecosystem, facilitate ease of doing business and contribute significantly to employment generation and economic growth in Himachal Pradesh. Director of Industries, Sh. Vivek Bhatia, shared that around facility will be extended for setting up of these parks.
