Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, under the esteemed leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, successfully organised a guest lecture on the theme “How to Attain Perfection in the Legal Profession” delivered by Justice J. R. Midha, former Judge of the Delhi High Court and Professor of Practice at National Law University Delhi. The lecture, hosted by the Placement Assistance Cell, witnessed active participation from final-year students, LL.M. scholars, and members of the academic community.
Justice J. R. Midha, in his address, emphasised the significance of logical reasoning, clarity of thought, persuasive advocacy, and command over language as essential attributes for achieving excellence in the legal profession. His Lordship elaborated on the critical skills required for legal professionals across diverse domains, including litigation, judiciary, and corporate practice. He highlighted the importance of continuous learning, precision in legal argumentation, and the art of persuasion as cornerstones of professional success. Drawing from his extensive judicial experience, he provided practical guidance on courtroom dynamics and the disciplined approach necessary to achieve perfection in the legal field.
The session was marked by vibrant interaction, with students engaging in thoughtful discussions and posing pertinent questions. Justice Midha addressed these queries with clarity and depth, offering realistic perspectives on the challenges and expectations of the legal profession.
