Solan, April 23
A five-year-old girl was allegedly lured away from her home in Devghat area of Solan district, prompting a police investigation into an attempted assault case.

According to the complaint filed by the family, the incident took place on April 18 when the child was playing in the courtyard of her house. Three boys from the neighbourhood, reportedly aged 12, 15 and 19, allegedly enticed the minor with a mobile phone and chocolates and took her aside.
The family has alleged that the 19-year-old then took the girl to a nearby room and attempted inappropriate acts. The child raised an alarm, following which the accused fled the spot.
The accused are believed to be migrant workers residing on rent near the victim’s house and working under a local contractor. The girl’s father is a sanitation worker with the municipal council.
A complaint has been lodged with Solan police, who have initiated an investigation. Officials said efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused, and appropriate legal action will be taken under relevant sections.
Residents in the area have demanded swift action and strict punishment for those involved.
