Waknaghat, April 23
The Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) witnessed an engaging academic session led by distinguished AICTE Professor N. Tejo Prakash, focusing on research proposal writing, project execution, and student innovation.
The session, organised under the guidance of Sudhir Kumar, Dean – Research and Internationalization at JUIT, emphasised the growing importance of well-structured and competitive research proposals in securing grants.
Prof. Prakash highlighted that a clear, concise, and non-ambiguous title, along with a strong abstract, plays a decisive role in attracting reviewers’ attention. He cautioned against overly ambitious budgets and stressed that realistic collaborations with domain experts significantly improve the chances of funding from government agencies.
Delving into proposal writing, he outlined key do’s and don’ts across sections, while encouraging faculty to frame precise objectives and problem statements. The session concluded with an interactive discussion on research strategies and collaboration models.
In a separate session with undergraduate students, Prof. Prakash focused on Capstone Projects and internships, urging students to adopt cross-disciplinary approaches and align their ideas with national initiatives such as the Smart India Hackathon.
He advised students to utilise summer internships effectively, describing them as opportunities for pre-placement offers, while underscoring the importance of technical documentation, discipline, and skill development.
The sessions saw active participation from both faculty and students, reflecting JUIT’s continued emphasis on fostering research excellence and industry readiness.
