Hamirpur, July 14: Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU), Hamirpur, has allotted 2,708 seats for B.Tech and B.Pharmacy (Direct Entry) programmes in the first phase of online counselling, marking the first time the university has conducted seat allocation for these courses through an online process.
According to Dr Rajesh Kumar, Dean (Academics), seat allotments were made on the basis of JEE Main and HPCET merit, along with candidates’ preferences for participating government and private institutions.
Of the total seats allotted, 1,753 were for B.Tech (Direct Entry) and 955 for B.Pharmacy (Direct Entry) across HPTU and its affiliated colleges.
Candidates who have secured seats have been asked to report to their allotted institutions by July 16. Those who fail to complete the admission process by 5 pm on the stipulated date will forfeit their allotted seat, which will then be treated as vacant for subsequent rounds.
Meanwhile, the university also conducted the first phase of offline counselling for MBA (Tourism), M.Sc Physics, M.Sc Environmental Science, and MA/M.Sc Yoga at the HPTU campus.
The first round of counselling for Pharm D was held at the Pharmacy College, Kathog, in Kangra district, while counselling for B.Sc HMCT, BHMC, BCA and BBA took place at the respective institutions offering these programmes.
The second phase of online counselling is scheduled for July 18.
