Shimla, May 8: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), through its MSME and Startup Committee, organised a two-day residential programme titled ICAI-DFO Stakeholders Residential Meet – MSME Manthan Meet 2026 in Shimla on May 8 and 9.
The programme focuses on addressing the evolving needs of MSMEs and startups in India, with discussions centred on policy interventions, financing, innovation and sectoral challenges.
Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi virtually inaugurated the event. ICAI MSME and Startup Committee chairman CA Gyan Chandra Mishra, vice-chairman CA Sanjay Kumar Agrawal and senior ministry officials were also present.
The meet brought together government officials, financial institutions and ecosystem partners including NSIC, GeM, KVIC, Laghu Udyog Bharati and industry organisations to deliberate on key issues affecting the MSME sector.
Several technical and interactive sessions were organised on topics including MSME financing, market access, technology adoption, financial sustainability, government regulations and entrepreneurship development.
A panel discussion focused on policy measures and regulatory reforms aimed at improving access to markets, technology and finance for MSMEs. Sessions were also held on business compliance, project evaluation and skill development.
ICAI highlighted its initiatives to strengthen the MSME ecosystem, including the “ICAI MSME Mahotsav 2025”, which supported around 20,000 MSMEs across the country in a single day and received recognition from India Book of Records, Asia Book of Records and World Book of Records.
The institute also runs MSME clinics across the country through its 186 branches, offering guidance and support to small enterprises every Friday through pro-bono sessions.
