The 3rd International Conference on Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (ICBAB-2026) commenced at Jaypee University of Information Technology on Wednesday, bringing together researchers, academicians, and students from across the globe to discuss emerging developments in biotechnology and bioinformatics.
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) P. L. Gautam, who attended as the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the transformative potential of biotechnology and bioinformatics in addressing critical challenges related to healthcare, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and computational biology. He also encouraged young researchers to pursue innovation with a sense of responsibility and ethical commitment.

The delegates and participants were welcomed by Convener Dr. Saurabh Bansal along with co-conveners Dr. Ashok Kumar Nadda and Dr. Shikha Mittal. Dr. Bansal outlined the objectives and key themes of the conference, emphasizing sustainable development and international collaboration in scientific research.
Program Chair Prof. (Dr.) Jata Shankar shared his vision for promoting interdisciplinary research and strengthening collaborations among scientists and institutions.
Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Sharma underscored the significance of academic conferences in nurturing young talent and fostering innovation. He noted that platforms such as ICBAB-2026 offer valuable opportunities for students and researchers to exchange ideas, build professional networks, and contribute to advancements in biosciences.
The inaugural session concluded with the release of the conference abstract book and a vote of thanks, marking the beginning of three days of scientific deliberations, keynote lectures, technical sessions, and student presentations.
