The students of IEC University successfully concluded a three-day educational tour to Rajaji National Park aimed at enhancing practical understanding of wildlife conservation and ecology.
As part of the visit, students participated in a jungle safari in the park’s Chilla range, where they observed various wildlife species, including Asian elephants, leopards and different varieties of deer in their natural habitat. The tour also provided an opportunity to closely study the biodiversity of the Shivalik range and the rare flora found in the Himalayan foothills.
During the educational excursion, forest officials and park guides conducted an interactive session for students, highlighting the importance of wildlife conservation and discussing initiatives such as ‘Project Elephant’. Officials also informed students about the challenges involved in protecting wildlife and maintaining ecological balance.
According to the university administration, such educational visits help students develop environmental awareness, leadership qualities and teamwork skills beyond classroom learning. Faculty members from various departments accompanied the students throughout the tour and actively participated in the activities.
The university stated that the primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to wildlife, ecology and natural ecosystems alongside academic studies.
Sharing their experiences after the tour, students described the visit as a memorable learning experience and said that connecting with nature offered them valuable insights beyond textbooks.
