Mandi: Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, who is busy providing relief to the people from the terrible devastation in the Seraj assembly constituency of Mandi district, said that now our first goal is to reach every affected person and provide them disaster relief material. Due to the disaster, people’s houses, gardens, fields, and barns—nothing was left. Roads were closed. People are forced to leave their homes and live in camps. In such a situation, Jairam Thakur is working hard to ensure that rations and medicines reach the people on time. He had also appealed to the state government to take effective steps in this matter. He established better coordination with the central government and informed other key ministers, including Home Minister Amit Shah, about the situation. Due to this, helicopters were sent by the Center. Today, due to good weather, helicopters flew to many places and delivered relief material to various places. The army is also delivering relief material to the people with all its might despite the difficult conditions in Bandra Two. Today, Lok Sabha MP from the Mandi parliamentary seat Kangana Ranaut also visited the disaster-hit Thunag along with Jairam Thakur. After this, BJP’s state president, Dr. Rajiv Bindal, also reached Thunag with a consignment of relief material along with BJP’s delegation. The Leader of the Opposition also distributed relief material to the disaster-affected people along with them.
Disaster relief material should reach every affected person in a proper manner. People should not face any kind of inconvenience. Keeping in mind the needs of the people, he has also assigned the responsibility of coordination to some people, including the Pradhan of the disaster-affected area. So that the goods needed by the people keep reaching the people. Today, he also started the langar service with the help of the “Shiv Sharan Shri Ram Langar Committee” in Thunag. Along with this, Ravindra Vasudev’s organization “Charaiveti” of Harouli of Una also reached Thunag and delivered essential goods to the people.
Jairam Thakur appealed to the people to help the disaster-affected people and also made efforts at a personal level. On his call, hundreds of social organizations and common people have come forward and are cooperating to the fullest. Help will start arriving from everywhere within one to two days. As the roads are restored, trucks filled with disaster relief materials sent by the people will reach the people. Jai Ram Thakur thanked the people for their wholehearted cooperation for the disaster-affected people of the state on his appeal and expressed his gratitude.
He said that this time is undoubtedly very difficult but the way people have come forward with one voice and are supporting it, it is certain that this time will pass very soon. He said that along with cooperation from the people at a personal level, the Center has also talked to the people for cooperation through various means, which we will also get effectively.
Praised those who saved people’s lives by risking their own lives
Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur said that troubles do not come with any notice but standing with someone in trouble definitely averts troubles. There is no nobler work in the world than this. He praised the work of two young trainees of Thunag Forestry College, Sahil Thakur, a resident of Kash village of Sarkaghat, and Ronit of Sirmaur and Nagendra Pal, an electrician posted in Tandi, for saving people’s lives by making calls in times of danger to their lives and said that these are the “real heroes” of our lives. The entire state is proud of your bravery and good heart.
