Traffic has been badly affected due to waterlogging on the roads, and many vehicles are stuck midway. Water has entered homes in low-lying areas, forcing people to move their belongings to safer places. The administration has appealed to the people to remain alert and not to leave their homes unnecessarily. Rescue teams are helping people stranded in the affected areas and efforts are on to drain out the water.
This rain can also harm agriculture, as there is a possibility of crops getting damaged due to waterlogging in the fields. Power supply has also been disrupted, due to which darkness has descended in many areas. The Meteorological Department has predicted more rain for the next few hours, which may worsen the situation. The local people are quite surprised and upset by this unexpected rain.
