Focus on Women and Rural Youth

Shimla: The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) will organise a special employment drive in Shimla on July 25 to encourage self-employment and financial empowerment among women, men and youth. The initiative, being conducted under the Mahila Career Scheme and Rural Career Scheme, aims to create income-generating opportunities through LIC’s insurance advisor network.
The one-day recruitment drive will be held at Sharma Destination Hotel, Mashobra, from 11 am to 3 pm, under the supervision of Development Officer Anita Tapan Gupta, in coordination with the District Employment Office, Shimla.
Candidates selected as LIC insurance advisors will be entitled to commission-based earnings along with fixed financial assistance during the initial years. Under the Mahila Career Scheme, selected women will receive ₹7,000 per month in the first year, ₹6,000 in the second year and ₹5,000 in the third year. Selected male candidates will receive ₹5,000 per month in the first year and ₹4,000 per month in the second year, as per the scheme guidelines.
Special preference will be given to women associated with self-help groups (SHGs), rural women and unemployed youth.
Interested applicants should carry their Class 10 certificate, highest educational qualification certificate, identity proof, PAN card and passport-size photographs for on-the-spot registration. Documents can also be submitted via WhatsApp. The registration and examination fee is ₹750.
