Shimla, July 19
The Himachal Pradesh government on Sunday carried out a major reshuffle in the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service (HPAS), transferring and posting 18 officers with immediate effect. The notification, issued by the Department of Personnel (Appointment-IV), was approved by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla in the public interest.
Among the key appointments, Bhupender Kumar (HPAS-2009), Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh General Industries Corporation Limited, Shimla, has been given the additional charge of Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation, Shimla. Dr. (Major Retd.) Vishal Sharma (HPAS-2011) has been transferred from the post of Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, Dharamshala, and posted as Additional Director, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda. Sanjeev Kumar-I (HPAS-2011) has been posted as Additional Director, Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur, while Dr. Madan Kumar (HPAS-2012) has been appointed Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Mandi.
The government has also assigned Shipli Beakta (HPAS-2012) the additional charge of Secretary, State Election Commission, Himachal Pradesh, while Dr. Amit Guleria (HPAS-2012) has been posted as Additional Secretary (Jal Shakti) after relinquishing the additional charge of Technical Education. Other significant postings include Ram Prasad (HPAS-2014) as Joint Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog, Dr. (Major Retd.) Avaninder Kumar (HPAS-2014) as Registrar, CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur, and Raman Gharsangi (HPAS-2017) as Joint Secretary (MPP & Power) to the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
The reshuffle also includes the postings of Dr. (Mrs.) Poonam (HPAS-2017) as Assistant Commissioner to the Deputy Commissioner, Solan, Gaurav Mahajan (HPAS-2017) as Additional Director, Youth Services and Sports, Ankush Sharma (HPAS-2018) as Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, Dharamshala, Aprajita Chandel (HPAS-2019) to the Department of Personnel (Pool), Vishwa Mohan Dev Chauhan (HPAS-2019) as Executive Director, Himachal Road Transport Corporation, Shimla, Rajiv Thakur (HPAS-2020) as Regional Transport Officer, Hamirpur, Chirag Sharma (HPAS-2022) as Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Chamba, Surender Kumar Katoch (HPAS-2023) as Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Salooni, and Chandervir Singh (HPAS-2025) as Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Dharamshala.
In the same notification, the government cancelled the transfer and posting orders issued on July 6 and July 10, 2026, in respect of Siddhartha Acharya (HPAS-2013), Kapil Tomar (HPAS-2023) and Padma Chhodon (HPAS-2023) with immediate effect.
