SSB Shimla conducts yoga awareness and practice session at Kendriya Vidyalaya Jakhoo Hill, promoting fitness, mental well-being and holistic development ahead of International Yoga Day 2026.

As part of the ongoing Yoga Mahotsav 2026 celebrations, the Medical Training Centre (MTC), SSB, Shimla organised a Yoga Awareness and Practice Programme at Kendriya Vidyalaya Jakhoo Hill on Saturday. The initiative aimed to create awareness about the importance of yoga and encourage students and teachers to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.

During the programme, Yoga Instructor and Sub Inspector (Physiotherapist) Pushpendra Kumar and Chief Constable (Medical) Rampal conducted practical sessions on various yogasanas, pranayama and meditation techniques. The participants were also informed in detail about the physical, mental and emotional benefits of regular yoga practice and were encouraged to incorporate yoga into their daily routine for a healthier life.
The event was attended by school Principal Veer Singh, Yoga Instructor Bhupendra Kumar, PTI Vikas, along with teachers and students who participated enthusiastically in the activities. School authorities appreciated the efforts of the Medical Training Centre and described the programme as an important step towards the holistic development and health promotion of students.
Participants pledged to make yoga a regular part of their daily lives and highlighted its role in maintaining physical fitness, mental balance and emotional well-being. Special emphasis was also laid on yoga’s contribution towards building concentration, discipline and a positive outlook among young learners.
Officials said that under the guidance of senior officers of the Medical Training Centre, including Commandant (Medical) Dr. A.F Khan and Commandant (Medical) Dr. Rajiv Ranjan, a series of yoga awareness programmes are being conducted at educational institutions and other locations in the run-up to International Day of Yoga 2026.
The successful conduct of the programme reflected the strong coordination between Kendriya Vidyalaya Jakhoo Hill and the Medical Training Centre, SSB Shimla, reinforcing the message of wellness, fitness and healthy living among the younger generation.
