A vehicle rolled off the road and fell into a drain at Nankhadi police station under Rampur sub-division of Shimla district. At the time of the accident, there were two people in the car, out of which one person died and the other person was seriously injured.
DSP Rampur Naresh Sharma said, “A vehicle number HP: 27B 0426 pickup met with an accident at around 8 pm on Wednesday night in Nankhadi. The pickup vehicle was going from Khanog village under Nankhadi area towards Sholi. During this suddenly the vehicle went out of control. Gadasu fell 70 meters into the drain near Kainchi.”
Local people informed the police about the accident. Police reached the spot and pulled out two people in the vehicle who were immediately brought to the Primary Health Center Belupul for treatment. Where the medical officer declared a person dead. Meanwhile, the other injured person was referred to Khaneri Hospital for treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Kumar. At the same time, the injured has been identified as Amit Kumar. Both are said to be residents of Sholi village falling under tehsil Nankhadi. dSP Naresh Sharma said that the police have registered a case regarding the road accident and the reasons for the accident are being investigated.
