Himachal Pradesh has witnessed havoc at the beginning of the monsoon. After Kullu, now there is big news from Kangra and here 15 to 20 workers have been swept away due to flash flood in the ravine near a hydro project. At present, two bodies have been recovered.
According to the information, about 15 to 20 workers were swept away due to sudden increase in water flow in Manuni Khad in Indira Priyadarshini Hydraulic Project, Sokni Da Kot (Khaniara) near Dharamshala. All of them were living in a shed built on the banks of the ravine. Dharmendra, a worker from Chamba, said that this incident happened near the power house bridge number one in the afternoon. He said that the weather had cleared around 1 pm on Wednesday and then suddenly there was a flood. He works as a builder in the project.
