Rampur, September 20: In line with the directions of the Ministry of Power and the corporate office, Rampur HPS is observing the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026 from September 17 to October 2.
As part of the campaign, an intensive cleanliness and black-spot clearance drive was conducted on September 19 at Cleanliness Target Unit-1, identified near Dattnagar market and the bus stand along NH-5 under Dattnagar Gram Panchayat.
The drive was carried out under the guidance of E. Vikas Marwah, Project Head, Rampur HPS, with active participation from members of Mahila Mandal, Dattnagar, and support from Sambhav Public Welfare Trust, Dattnagar.
During the campaign, garbage-prone and difficult-to-clean areas were thoroughly cleaned. The waste collected from the identified black spot was transported to the designated waste management site with the support of the Sambhav Public Welfare Trust for segregation and scientific disposal.
The initiative also focused on reducing the use of plastic and single-use plastic (SUP) and promoting environmentally friendly alternatives. As part of the awareness drive, jute bags were distributed among members of Mahila Mandal, Dattnagar to encourage sustainable practices and reduce dependence on plastic bags.
Speaking on the occasion, Project Head E. Vikas Marwah urged local residents to avoid littering in public places, markets and along roadsides and to dispose of waste only at designated locations.
He emphasised that continued community participation is essential to keeping cleanliness target units clean, hygienic and free from waste.
