Shimla, August 30: Sunil Rohta, Managing Director of Roots Country School, Kotkhai, Shimla, and District President of Shimla Swimming Association, has been honoured with the Indian Excellence Award 2026 for his outstanding contribution to the fields of education and sports.
The award was jointly presented by Ladli Foundation, Himachal Rainbow Star Club and Govind Sagar Adventure and Water Sports Association. The honour was conferred in the presence of Ladli Foundation state president Shalu Akhtar, Himachal Rainbow Star Club office-bearers Narmada Sharma and Diksha Sharma, and technical officials of the Govind Sagar Adventure and Water Sports Association, Rakesh Kumar and Ishan Akhtar.
Along with the award, Rohta was also presented with a traditional Himachali cap and shawl.
Ladli Foundation office-bearer Neelam Thakur and Himalaya Vikas Seva Sansthan office-bearers, including state vice-president Rashid Mohammad and Anshul Thakur, said Rohta was recognised for his sustained efforts towards promoting education and sports.
Speaking on the occasion, Rohta said he remained committed to taking education and sports to the grassroots level in rural areas across Himachal Pradesh and other parts of the country.
Representatives of Himachal Rainbow Star Club, Sarvadharm Samabhav Rashtriya Manch, Ladli Foundation, Himalaya Vikas Seva Sansthan and Govind Sagar Adventure and Water Sports Association were also present on the occasion.
