SHIELD Trust (Safeguarding Himachal’s Integrity, Environment, Landmarks & Dignity) organised its second plantation drive at Outstep Public School, Naggar, Kullu, under the theme “Green Today Greener Tomorrow.”
During the drive, 14 cedar (coniferous) saplings were planted on the school campus, while additional saplings were distributed among students and staff for planting near their homes, extending the initiative into the wider community. The Kullu Forest Department provided the saplings and technical guidance for their plantation and care. SHIELD Trust thanked the Forest Department, including the DFO and Range Officer, for its support.
Mr. Khub Ram Negi, MD & Principal, Outstep Public School, Naggar, appreciated the initiative and encouraged students and staff to ensure the regular care of the saplings.
Ritanjali Hastir, President, SHIELD Trust, said the Trust would continue working with schools and local communities to promote environmental awareness and responsible stewardship of Himachal Pradesh’s natural resources. Dr. Yogesh Bhardwaj, Secretary, SHIELD Trust, thanked the school management, Forest Department, teachers, students and volunteers, and stressed that the success of plantation drives depends on the survival and healthy growth of the saplings.
