The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shoolini University, organised an interactive session with industry experts from Panacea Biotec Pharma Limited, Baddi, to familiarise students with career opportunities, industry expectations, innovation, research and emerging trends in the pharmaceutical sector.
Bhupesh Kumar Sharma, HR Lead, Panacea Biotec Ltd., Vaccine Unit, and Bachittar Singh, HR Lead, Panacea Biotec Pharma Ltd., interacted with the students and shared valuable insights into the evolving pharmaceutical industry. They highlighted the importance of scientific thinking, innovation, practical knowledge and continuous learning for building successful careers. They also discussed developments in vaccine innovation and the growing opportunities available to young professionals in the pharmaceutical sector.
The industry interaction was followed by an inspiring session with Prof. Rajiv Tonk, Dean, Student Welfare, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University, who encouraged students to approach their academic and professional journeys with a positive attitude. He urged them to explore the diverse fields of pharmacy, strengthen their practical knowledge and actively seek new opportunities for professional growth.
Prof. Deepak Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shoolini University, provided an overview of the Faculty and introduced students to its academic, research and innovation ecosystem. He highlighted Shoolini University’s achievements and recognition in the QS, THE and NIRF rankings, along with the key research areas of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Prof. Kumar also briefed the students about the Faculty’s externally funded research projects and grants supported by leading national agencies and programmes, including DBT-BIRAC, TIH-DST, DST-SERB, MSME, NMICPS-DST, DRDO, NITI Aayog and the Atal Community Innovation Centre. He further highlighted consultancy and collaborative research initiatives supported by organisations including ICT-DST and E&ICT, IIT Guwahati.
He explained that these initiatives provide students and researchers with opportunities to engage in innovation, entrepreneurship, interdisciplinary research and emerging technologies.
Speaking about the future direction of the Faculty, Prof. Kumar encouraged students to become job creators rather than merely job seekers. He emphasised the importance of the 4Ps Projects, Publications, Patents and Products as key pillars of academic growth, innovation and professional success.
Dr. Abhishek Singh introduced students to the E-YUVA Centre, Shoolini University (Empowering Youth for Undertaking Value Added Innovative Translational Research). He encouraged students to transform their innovative ideas into entrepreneurial ventures by making use of the Centre’s funding support, mentorship and incubation facilities.
The concluding academic session was conducted by Dr. Aditi, who explained the B.Pharm and M.Pharm curricula and examination system to newly admitted students.
