New facilities at F Block to provide practical training and collaborative learning spaces for students
Solan, October 26
Shoolini University has inaugurated its newly upgraded media studios, smart classrooms and collaborative learning spaces at F Block to strengthen practical learning for students of the School of Media and Communications and the School of Liberal Arts.
The facilities were inaugurated by Chancellor Prof P K Khosla and Pro-Chancellor Prof Vishal Anand. They were joined by Prof Nishtha Shukla Anand, Trustee, President and Dean of the Faculty of Media and Liberal Arts.
The faculty has shifted from G and H Blocks to the fully furnished and modernised F Block, which offers improved facilities for teaching, practical training and student interaction.
A key highlight of the new facilities is the upgraded television studio, equipped with dedicated anchor chairs, soundproofing and a special set for Shoolini Spotlight, the university’s weekly podcast. The podcast features guests from different fields and is produced entirely by media students, who handle filming, editing and publishing under the guidance of Dr Paarth Sharma.
The new radio studio is equipped with modern recording facilities, giving students hands-on experience in radio scriptwriting, audio recording and editing. Dr Indu Negi of the School of Media and Communications manages the studio.
The upgraded classrooms feature touchscreen smart boards to support interactive teaching. A mini library and a dedicated collaborative area have also been created to encourage students to exchange ideas, work on projects and learn together.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Vishal Anand said, “Our vision is to develop the School of Liberal Arts into a centre of excellence and establish it as the fourth pillar of the university. With a growing number of students choosing Liberal Arts programmes, we are strengthening our academic foundation by bringing together experienced faculty and creating an environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity and interdisciplinary learning. We believe that a strong Liberal Arts education can broaden perspectives, empower young minds and bring meaningful change to society.”
Prof P K Khosla congratulated the faculty on the new facilities and encouraged teachers to give greater attention to research.
Prof Nishtha Shukla Anand said, “We are committed to developing the School of Liberal Arts into one of the leading institutions of its kind in the country. Our focus is on providing students with a holistic learning experience that combines academic excellence with practical exposure, critical thinking and creativity. The new facilities reflect our commitment to creating an engaging learning environment that equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in their chosen fields.”
