Faculty, staff and students plant saplings across campus, pledge to promote environmental sustainability
Solan, June 5:
Shoolini University celebrated World Environment Day by organizing a tree plantation drive under the nationwide ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign at the Vrindavan Garden area of its campus.
The programme was inaugurated by Brig. (Retd.) S.D. Mehta, Director Operations, and Prof. Neeraj Gandotra, Associate Dean Student Welfare (DSW). Addressing the gathering, they underscored the importance of World Environment Day and stressed the need for collective efforts to protect natural resources and promote environmental conservation.
They highlighted that planting and nurturing trees is one of the most effective ways to combat climate change, restore ecological balance and ensure a sustainable future for coming generations.
The plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, staff and students, who planted a large number of saplings across the Vrindavan Garden area. Participants also pledged to nurture the saplings and continue contributing towards maintaining a green and eco-friendly campus.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable living, reinforcing Shoolini University’s dedication to promoting ecological awareness and responsible citizenship.
