Two-day open competitions begin on National Sports Day

Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur, organized an open sports competition to commemorate National Sports Day, the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. Students showcased their talents in chess, table tennis, carrom board, and badminton. 120 students are participating in the two-day sports competition. On the first day of the competition, B.Tech students Shubham Kamal, Manas, and Nishant secured first, second, and third places respectively in the men’s table tennis category. In the women’s table tennis category, Kritika Rana, MBA, Rakhi, second, and Tanisha, third. In the women’s carrom board category, the team of Kritika and Diksha, MBA, won the title, while the team of Shanvi and Kamakshi, B.Tech, won the title. Ankita, B.Tech, finished first in chess, Kritika, second, and Neelam Verma, third, in yoga. On this occasion, Technical University’s Sports Coordinator Dr. Manish Khanna, Dr. JP Sharma, along with Professors Abhinav Jamwal, Chandra Varun, Rahul Kaundal, Yashveer Singh, Meenakshi, Archana, and Atul were present. The Sports Coordinator said that the prizes for the two-day open competition will be distributed on Monday.
