Anti-Chitta awareness program organized in Dharampur
Deputy Commissioner Solan Manmohan Sharma said that effective public awareness against drug addiction is the only powerful means to eradicate this social evil. Manmohan Sharma was presiding over an anti-Chitta awareness program at the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Dharampur today.
Manmohan Sharma said that the use of chitta and other drugs is posing a serious challenge to society, especially the future of youth. He urged young people to stay away from drugs and ensure active participation in education, sports, and creative activities.
He said that today drug addiction has reached remote areas of the state. The administration and citizens must work together to keep youth away from drugs and other narcotics, so that drug addiction can be eradicated. He urged everyone to report any suspicious drug-related activity to the administration and police so that it can be stopped. He added that the identity of the person reporting suspicious activity will be kept confidential.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that with the cooperation of the district administration, police department, health department, and various social organizations, the anti-Chitta campaign is being transformed into a public movement. He added that, as directed by the state government, strict action is being taken against drug traffickers to curb the drug menace.
Manmohan Sharma also urged teachers and parents to pay close attention to their children, monitor their habits, interactions, and other activities, and identify any changes to prevent them from turning to drugs.
On this occasion, a street play on the topic of drug prevention was presented by the students.
Gram Panchayat Dharampur’s Pradhan Mahesh Gupta, Government Model Senior Secondary School Dharampur’s Principal Dharamveer Kaur along with officers of various departments, teachers and students of the school were present on this occasion.
