Two Home Guard jawans who illegally collected money from a pickup driver have been removed from duty. The matter has been investigated by the DSP Headquarters. In the investigation, both the Home Guard jawans have accepted their mistake and also apologized.
According to the allegation, on December 8, both the jawans were posted on traffic duty under Nadaun police station. Both the Home Guard jawans stopped a pickup jeep full of goats for search in Nadaun. The driver was asked to show the documents of permission to carry the goats in the pickup. During this, the driver of the vehicle was threatened. Finally, the driver was released after collecting Rs 500. These Home Guard jawans were on traffic duty here. Hamirpur police had received a complaint in this matter.
After investigation in the matter, on December 16, the district police recommended action to the concerned department. Five days ago, the duty place of both the jawans was changed. Now both have been removed from duty. At the same time, Home Guard Commandant Vinay Kumar said, ‘A complaint was received from SP Hamirpur office. After this, both these Home Guard jawans have been removed from duty with immediate effect. Investigation and inquiry is still being done by the department in this matter. The previous record of both these jawans will also be checked.’ The case has been investigated by DSP Headquarters. In the investigation, both the Home Guard jawans have apologized while admitting their mistake.
