Chamba, July 14: As many as 148 artists appeared for auditions on the opening day of the selection process for cultural performances to be showcased during the International Minjar Fair 2026 in Chamba on Tuesday.
The auditions, being conducted at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Chamba, witnessed participation from solo performers, group artists and theatre troupes affiliated with the Chamba Municipal Council area.
District Language Officer Tukesh Sharma said two screening committees have been constituted to evaluate the performances and ensure a transparent selection process.
He said the final list of performers will be prepared on the basis of merit after the completion of the audition process, and selected artists will get an opportunity to perform during the prestigious fair.
According to the schedule, auditions will continue on July 15 for Chamba subdivision, July 16 for Bhattiyat and Dalhousie subdivisions, July 17 for Salooni and Tissa subdivisions, July 18 for Bharmaur and Pangi subdivisions, and July 20 for artists from outside Chamba district.
