Achieved first position in hockey and second position in basketball at the district level
Shimla, October 10. The district-level Under-14 Girls’ Major Games Competition concluded last evening at the Government Senior Secondary School, Duttnagar. Fifteen female players from the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Junga, were selected for the state-level hockey and basketball competitions. These included Saanvi, Priyanka Kumari, Mansi, Madhu, Priyanka, Bhumika, Harshita, Gudiya, Muskan, Samridhi, Muskan, Kanika, Mehak, Shashi, and Gunjan.
Physical education teacher Rama Devi said that the students of Junga School have brought honor to the school by securing first place in hockey and second place in basketball at the district level. Now, these students will showcase their strength in hockey and basketball at the upcoming state-level competition in Saloh, Una district. Upon arrival at the school, the student athletes were warmly welcomed by the staff and children with garlands of flowers.
Principal Mahesh Sharma extended his best wishes to all the students and wished them a bright future. SMC President Pawan Kumar and the parents attributed this success to the Principal and Physical Education Teacher Rama Devi, who worked tirelessly day and night to achieve this milestone. Pawan Kumar said that the selection of 15 students from a single school is a significant achievement for the region.
