Health Minister Dr. Shandil formally inaugurated it.
Health and Family Welfare, Social Justice and Empowerment and Soldier Welfare Minister Colonel Dr. Dhaniram Shandil today formally inaugurated the three-day national level historical Shoolini Fair in Solan.
This fair dedicated to Mother Shulini, the presiding deity of Solan, is a unique example of faith and devotion.
This national-level festival symbolizes the divine tradition and public faith. Dedicated to Goddess Shoolini, the main attraction of this fair is the goddess’s palanquin procession. Beginning at the Goddess Shoolini temple, the procession passes through major locations in Solan city before culminating at the temple of the Goddess’s elder sister, Goddess Durga, located in Ganj Bazaar.
On this occasion, Health Minister Dr. Shandil formally welcomed the palanquin of Maa Shulini as per tradition and wished good fortune, prosperity, health and happiness to the people.
On this occasion, he congratulated the residents of Solan on the national recognition of this fair. He said that this festival, dedicated to Goddess Shoolini, reflects a rich cultural heritage. It is one of the only festivals in the country where countless feasts are held over three days. During this period, everyone within the confines of Solan city receives a proper meal.
Dr. Shandil expressed hope that this festival will bring new enthusiasm in everyone’s life.
Earlier, Solan Deputy Commissioner and Fair Committee Chairman Manmohan Sharma formally welcomed and honoured Health and Family Welfare Minister Colonel Dr. Dhaniram Shandil, Doon MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary and Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi.
Earlier, Dr. Shandil participated in the havan organised before the inauguration of the fair at the historic Thodo ground in Solan.
