Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Sharma, an eminent academician, researcher and former Chairman of the Department of Commerce at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla, today took charge as the Vice-Chancellor of APG Shimla University.

Prof. Sharma succeeds Prof. (Dr.) Rajender Chauhan, former Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University, who has now been elevated as Pro-Chancellor (Academics) of APG Shimla University.
With a distinguished career in higher education, Prof. Sharma brings extensive experience in teaching, research and academic administration. As former Chairman of the Department of Commerce at HPU, he made significant contributions to academic development, teaching and research.
A renowned academician and researcher, Prof. Sharma is expected to provide fresh momentum to the university’s research culture, academic excellence, innovation and quality education. His experience in academic administration is also expected to strengthen research collaborations and encourage greater participation of faculty and students in research activities.
Prof. Sharma was welcomed to the university by the Chancellor and members of the university fraternity. The university expressed confidence that his academic expertise, research orientation and visionary leadership would help APG Shimla University achieve new milestones in education, research and innovation.
His joining marks the beginning of a new chapter for APG Shimla University, with the institution looking forward to further growth and excellence under his leadership.
