Illustrating his point, he recited Ghalib’s famous couplet:
“De ke khat munh takta hai naama-bar,
Kuchh to paighaam-e-zabani aur hai.”
Prof. Bismillah also sang a few verses by Faiz Ahmed Faiz, while Dr. Savita Sehgal mesmerised the audience by rendering a poem by Mahadevi Verma in a musical form, earning enthusiastic applause.
