48 Gram Panchayats of Solan district have been declared TB free, this information was given today by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar Yadav while presiding over the district level TB free Panchayat award ceremony organized by the Health and Family Welfare Department.
He said that to make this campaign a mass movement, people will have to be made aware about tuberculosis. The treatment of this disease is effective and accessible and the government provides free medicines for the prevention and treatment of this disease. He said that The state government also provides Rs 500 per month to the tuberculosis patient for nutrition for six months during treatment. He said that this disease can be cured through treatment.
Furthermore, he urged the Panchayat representatives present to make all the citizens aware in their respective Panchayats to make the district TB free. He said that the Government of India has set a target to eradicate this disease from the country by the year 2025 while the state government has not yet achieved the target. We are determined to achieve this goal by the year 2024.
He informed that 48 Gram Panchayats of Solan district have been declared TB free on the basis of criteria, which include 16 Panchayats of Health Block Arki, 3 Panchayats of Health Block Chandi, 2 Panchayats of Health Block Dharampur, 16 Panchayats of Health Block Nalagarh and 11 Panchayats of Health Block Sayri.
He mentioned that TB free panchayats of the district include gram panchayats Bhumati, Chaniyadhar Daseran, Dumahar, Jaghoon, Kyarar, Kothi, Kotlu, Maan, Mangal, Navgaon, Planiya, Rohanj Jalana, Sanan, Sarma, Sevda Chandi of health block Arki and health block Nalagarh. Gram Panchayat Bhagudi, Gharsi, Nahari, Anji Matala, Kotla, Behari, Bayla, Bhayunkhari, Dharmana, Gholowal, Gol Jamala, Jagapur, Karsauli, Kundlu, Lag, Malaun, Matuli, Nand, Panjahra, Pole Da Khala, Riya, Health Block The gram panchayats of Kandaghat, namely Basha, Chayal, Chhavsha, Jadhana, Kahla, Kanair, Kot, Mamlig, Sainj, Sakodi and Vakna were awarded.
On this occasion, an oath was also taken on tobacco free youth campaign.
