Solan, June 7
The All India Girls Expedition (Himtrek) 2026, bringing together young NCC girl cadets from across the country, is underway at Jaypee University in Himachal Pradesh from June 5 to June 12.

The expedition is being organized by 1 HP (G) Battalion NCC Solan under Shimla Group, PHHP&C Directorate.
The week-long adventure camp has attracted enthusiastic participation from 510 cadets representing five NCC Directorates in Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh (PHHP&C).
The university has provided state-of-the-art accommodation, training facilities, and a conducive environment for the successful conduct of the expedition.
The camp is being managed by a dedicated team comprising three officers, 16 Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), two Girl Cadet Instructors (GCIs), nine Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), and 14 Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs).
The participating cadets arrived at the camp venue on June 5 and completed registration and documentation formalities.
The expedition was formally inaugurated on June 6 with an address by Camp Commandant Col Vivek Bhatara, who welcomed the cadets and outlined the objectives, schedule, and activities planned during the camp. He emphasized the importance of discipline, safety, teamwork, and adventure in shaping future leaders.
A major highlight of the opening day was the Dumher Trek, where cadets explored the scenic beauty of the region while developing endurance, self-confidence, and team-building skills.
The day’s activities concluded with sports competitions, recreational games, and a colorful cultural evening that fostered interaction and camaraderie among participants from different states.
The Himtrek 2026 expedition aims to promote adventure, leadership, self-reliance, and national integration among young girl cadets, providing them with a platform to develop life skills and strengthen the spirit of unity in diversity.
