Kangra, August 22: The Annual Anti-Hijacking Mock Exercise and the Aerodrome Committee Meeting were successfully conducted at Gaggal Airport in Kangra district under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Kangra.
The exercise witnessed the participation of key stakeholder departments and agencies, including the Police, Health Department, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Intelligence Bureau, Army, National Security Guard (NSG), airport staff, Airport Police Security Unit and other concerned agencies.
The mock exercise was organised to assess and strengthen preparedness, coordination, communication and response mechanisms for dealing with potential hijacking situations and other aviation-related emergencies.
Officials and participating agencies reviewed their respective roles and responsibilities during the exercise. The drill also helped identify areas requiring further improvement and enhanced inter-agency coordination for an effective emergency response.
The exercise underlined the importance of preparedness and coordinated action among all agencies to ensure swift and effective handling of any aviation-related emergency.
