Arki/Solan
For the past few days, terror of leopards has spread in the village of Bajiwan of Gram Panchayat Bhumati in Arki. Village social worker Mast Ram Sharma said that for the last month, four leopards have created fear in the village. These leopards have been living in the adjoining Bivali forest for about 3–4 years and are seen roaming in the fields and grasslands of the villagers during the day.
They are preying on pets and dogs. The biggest problem is for children going to school. Parents are not sending them alone from home. They keep howling around the houses all night. Villagers have appealed to the forest department and other government officials to catch them.
