The Social Justice and Empowerment Department organized an awareness camp under the Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955 and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, in the development block Chidgaon today, facilitated by the Tehsil Welfare Officer, Chidgaon. The camp was presided over by Dharmesh Ramotra, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Civil), Rohru.
He said that this awareness camp is an important step towards empowering the deprived sections of the society under the initiative of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department.
During the program, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Rohru, provided detailed information on the importance of both acts and raised awareness among the public representatives through a presentation. He directed the police department to complete the investigation of registered cases in a timely manner and submit monthly reports to the Tehsil Welfare Officer.
Also, the Tehsil Welfare Officer was directed to ensure that relief is provided to the eligible beneficiaries on time and awareness camps are organised regularly at the Panchayat level so that the weaker sections of the society can be made aware of their rights.

Assistant Commissioner (Development)-cum-Block Development Officer Chidgaon, Police Station Incharge Chidgaon, Tehsil Welfare Officer Chidgaon, Naib Tehsildar Chidgaon along with more than 50 Panchayat representatives including Zila Parishad members, BDC members, Pradhan, Up-Pradhan and Ward members were present in the camp.
