Shimla, May 25
The Himachal Pradesh government has revised the gazetted holiday for Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) in the state. According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department on Monday, the holiday will now be observed on May 28, 2026 (Thursday), instead of the previously announced May 27 (Wednesday).
The notification stated that the change has been made in continuation of the earlier government notification dated October 23, 2025. The order has been issued with the approval of the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
All government offices, boards, corporations and educational institutions in the state will now remain closed on May 28 on account of Bakrid.
