Department of Electrical Engineering, Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology conducted a workshop by “Sofcon India Pvt. Ltd.” Delhi on 17 Feb 2025 for Electrical Engineering students.
Participants were introduced to the concept of industrial automation, its history, and its role in enhancing productivity, efficiency, and safety in various industries.
The workshop included a detailed session on PLCs, where participants learned how to program and troubleshoot PLC systems using LadderLogic.
The workshop covered a brief introduction of different types of sensors (e.g., proximity, temperature, pressure) and actuators (e.g., motors, pneumatic systems) and their integration into automation systems for monitoring and control.
Safety protocols and standards, including emergency stop systems and risk assessments, were also discussed to ensure safe implementation of automation systems.etc.
